Bearden’s Collage: An Introduction to Collage Technique

On Saturday, March 3, from 1-4 p.m. the Taft Museum of Art will host the workshop “Bearden’s Collage: An Introduction to Collage Technique”. After discussing works in the exhibition, Impressions and Improvisations: The Prints of Romare Bearden, I will instruct participants in an exciting Bearden-inspired collage project. Museum of Science and Industry Chicago, Exhibition

The Black Creativity annual juried exhibition is one of the longest running events at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. The exhibition features over 100 works of art from artists around the globe, and I was awarded second place. The exhibition opens January 25th and continues through February 29th.

Cincinnati Magazine has Avondale Pride

I would like to thank Cincinnati Magazine for including the Avondale Pride Mural in The Best of the City issue. The article Walls of Fame written by William Powell, features other great ArtWorks Murals that where created by young apprentices led by Teaching Artist. It was an honor to work with ArtWorks this past summer and once again thank you Avondale Youth Council for inspiring me and my co-manager, Amanda Colley and our team of talented apprentices, in making your vision become a reality.
