In the last week of December 2012, the Cincinnati Enquirer featured individuals whose work was advancing the arts in the Cincinnati region. In the final week of December 2013, the Enquirer caught up with last year’s top picks to see what we’ve been up too. I would like to thank writer Julie Engebrecht for checking in with me and including me in this year’s report, Revisiting Our 10 picks for 2013 .
It’s great to be apart of the Art Beyond Boundaries Changing Perceptions series with their latest exhibition, Ambidextrous. This exhibition which features the work of artists with and without disabilities, has continually grown in popularity as one of the regions’ most vibrant fine art exhibits. The exhibition will last until January 17, 2014.
It was an honor to return to E.H. Greene Intermediate School as their artist in residence. In the course of one week and 20 classes, had the pleasure of engaging with 5th and 6th graders from art instructors Amy Glazer and Katy Hall’s studios about my work and journey as an artist. In addition to the students learning about my influences and the artists that interest me, we worked on two 4 x 4 foot canvases that were inspired by my latest work. Thank you Principal Philip Hackett and Sycamore school district for inviting back and Most importantly I would like to thank all 800 students that I met, who showed interest in the work I do and made these paintings come to life.
I would like to give special thanks to writer Karen Chambers, and The Cincinnati Enquirer for including me in their “10 who are Advancing in the Arts” article. It’s an honor to make the cut. To read the article and check out other well deserving indivdiuals who are sure to make some waves in the new year follow this link .
