Working with Visionaries and Voices artist Diamond Snowden on Double Vision III was an absolute pleasure. As a Studio coordinator at V&V I have always injoyed watching Diamonds growth as and artist. This project was a chance for both Diamond and I to collaborate and understand each other’s process and how we both have grown since our last collaboration a year ago. Side by side in my studio and at V&V we planed and executed this painting together pushing, pulling and refining architectonic imagery that was inspired by Diamond’s work as well as mine. Check out how Diamond and I pulled the painting together from start to finish along with some of the images that sparked our creativity.
Come out to Double Vision III at Memorial Hall On April 21st. Follow this link for more information on Double Vision III.

Oak Hills Elementary Students Reconstructing and Deconstructing their Community
Thank you Maria Shorten visual artists/educator and her wonderful third grade class at Oak Hills elementary school for inviting me to stop by and visit with you earlier this year. It was a blast sharing with the students my inspirations and latter inspiring them with their next project. After my visit students started their creative endeavor of reconstructing and deconstructing their community through cardboard shapes. Wow! Can I steel your idea? Canvas is out Cardboard is in. Check out the pictures of their amazing work and the pictures from my visit, where students had a chance to preview some of my works in progress. Thanks again Maria and the students of Oak Hills Elementary.

HEMI Stops by to Hang
It was a pleasure to have HEMI stop by my studio. The Higher Education Mentoring Initiative (HEMI) helps prepare foster youth for educational opportunities beyond high school. The HEMI Program recruits, trains, and supports mentors to establish positive long-term relationships with foster youth. HEMI mentors assist, encourage, and support student academic achievement, and also help create a direct pathway to higher education. In addition to sharing my artwork and learning about the participant’s interest, we made artwork that celebrated our individual character and our hopes and aspirations for the future.
